Ashley

So, when I was really little about 3 to 6, I had this doll named Ashley, and I think I liked her lots or she was my favorite doll. But then we moved from Chicago to Seattle and some how she got lost in the hossil of the move, and well I don't have my Ashley doll anymore. However, because I liked the doll so much, my mom was in consant search for another "Ashley Doll", (Ashley was the name of the Brand/Style of a particular doll; so I think). So after 3 or 4 years of living in the greater Northwest mom fianly found an Ashley for me, it was the same as the one i had lost in a store so of course she got me it, and i was thrilled, except one thing it wasn't my Ashley.
I still have the new Ashley, that replaced my Ashley, and well i look at it still see the difference between the two. But the funny thing is the two are completely the same, except the Doll that was lost important to a small girl, the Doll that was the replacement was just that a doll and not a special friend.
So for the thought of things young children know the differences between special toys and toys that aren't so special to them.
So the questions is what makes a toy specail and what makes it not so special to a child?
